the latest writing plans
Aug. 31st, 2010 08:39 ammy latest intent: to work on rough draft of "Vampire's Boy," and to write a 5,000 word pain/pleasure story (as Klaudia) & send to an anthology.
I started a story very loosely based on the fairy tale THE WITCH OF THE WOODS by Helena Nyblom (1905, I think) some time ago but it really split off into two things very quickly and I couldn't get a handle on how to deal with it. There's a young man with visions, who has them so strongly they cripple him and limit his future, with some religious implications involved, and then later on he's taken by the witch into the mountains as her captive. I think I might split these two up - the boy with the visions would play nicely into a story I thought about writing some time ago, about a man who has visions, and another man who desperately needs someone who can help him see where his brother has been taken (kidnapped). That would leave me with a straight narrative about the witch and the young man, and if the anthology doesn't take the story, there's lots of other places I can go with it.
I'm having some chronic sinus problems that are slowing me down. Very frustrating. The clinic I went to told me I might be looking at surgery. I do not react very gracefully to such things.
